Standards group RTCA has been around since 1934 and has a long and rich history of work improving safety for aviation. We go through the history of sc-203, of which I was a member representing the RCAPA in 2004. Since then, it was reorganized into the sc-228, and the work continues.

My guest for this instalment was Terry McVenes, CEO and President of RTCA. Terry has a long and distinguished career in aviation, and that experience made for a great industry-centered conversation.

This one is so good that it is like a free consulting session about what is in store for full drone NAS integration and AMM to work.

We delve into why the USA has the safest airspace system in the world, even giving credit to the airlines and commercial air carriers, and discuss what work still lays ahead if we hope to achieve our goals of safely integrating AAM, including drones, into the NAS.
