The Telecom Minister drew consideration to the success of the newly launched ‘Sanchar Saathi’ portal, designed to counter spam calls and cyber fraud. Notably, the platform’s implementation led to the blacklisting of over 40 lakh incorrect SIM playing cards and roughly 41,000 unauthorised “factors of sale” brokers.

Vaishnaw attributed the outstanding decline in such instances to the strategic integration of synthetic intelligence (AI) applied sciences. Leveraging the ability of AI, the Ministry has achieved tangible ends in combatting spam calls and thwarting cyber fraud makes an attempt.

Underlining the significance of vigilance, the Minister suggested people to reply to calls from unknown numbers provided that an identification message accompanies the decision. By advocating this precautionary measure, Vaishnaw aimed to empower residents to guard themselves from potential cyber threats.
